Allegra is one of the main characters in the 1999 film eXistenZ directed by David Cronenberg. In this film, he gives his psychological statement about how humans react and interact with the technologies that surround them, which in this case, the world of video games.
This shawl pattern picks up the complex plot including different realities and game instances and reflects it with the vortex (cornucopia) shape, the color of the yarn as well as the lace-and-cable pattern resembling the bioports featured in the film.
