Description
Spirotaenia Condensata is a triangle shawl worked sideways featuring lace and garter stitch.
This pattern has been inspired by the illustration of the species Spirotaenia condensata (Slide #24 Desmidiea, No. 9) in Ernst Haeckel’s book Kunstformen der Natur.
It is part of the Knitting Art Forms of Nature project.

This pattern uses charts, but includes written instructions too.
Yarn: Hand spun, hand dyed yarn [approx. 440 yards (400 meters) per 100 grams (3.53 ounces)], color: hand dyed (3 shades of pink – MC1, MC2, MC3), 1 contrast color (green, CC)); approx. 550 yds (500m) total
