Creating Knitting Patterns, Day 8: Sample Knitting
Welcome to Day 8 of the Complete Guide to Creating Knitting Patterns series! Today, we are going to create our first pattern draft.
You Are Ready To Knit Your Sample
Get out the pattern draft you created yesterday and actually knit a sample of your item.
Don’t rely on your memory and knowledge, knit your sample by following your pattern! This will help you track down major issues eventually present in your pattern. It will also save your tech editor a lot of time, and thus help saving you a lot of money. Tech editors get paid by the hour!
Is it possible to create your sample from the instructions you provide alone? If not, back to the drawing board! Incorporate any changes to make it possible. If you can’t create the sample of your item, no customer will be able to neither.
Exercise: Create Your Knitted Sample
Create your sample knitted item. Go and get some practice now! Creating knitting patterns in easier than you think. Make sure to let us know how it goes by leaving a comment below!
