Four Seasons of Shawls: Inspiration All Year
Last spring, when the pandemic started to take over our lives and everything started to change, I was stuck in a state of lost inspiration. I wanted to create new patterns but couldn’t think of a good theme to get started. Usually, I start with either a yarn, pattern or shape but it felt like my whole brain was occupied with the virus. It didn’t feel good at all so I went for a walk. (Remember – leaving the house was a big issue back then, at least over here.)
Nature got me back on track. Flowers and buds everywhere, spring in full bloom, colour and even more colour was out there. It reminded me of this one yarn I had stashed for a while – a multi color pure silk lace weight from Posh Yarn I always planned to knit a lace shawl with but never got round to it. It so looked like Spring. My next thought was yes, there are yarns in my stash that I’d classify as Summer or Autumn and even Winter. My next big design theme was born! I called it Four Seasons of Shawls – a collection of seasons themed shawl knitting patterns.
Four Seasons of Shawls: Autumn
As it was late spring already and designing and writing patterns takes a while I decided I’d start with Autumn and proceed from there. The collection is available in ebook form on Ravelry and the shop and will be published as Kindle and paperback versions in March (links will be updated as soon as it is available).
